Follow-up Comment #1, bug #42438 (project gnustep):
The problem seems to be intermittent, sometimes it works and stops working
when scrolling begins, sometimes it doesn't work from the beginning.
At works, the long menu doesn't get drawn all with its items, but only a white
or black square gets displayed (which appears to scroll and even blind
selection of an item works)
