I see. It's clear that it's too risky to make this change now, with so little slack time. Can you please correct the NEWS entry, to state On Windows platforms and on AIX in 32-bit mode, grep in some cases now supports Unicode characters outside the Basic Multilingual Plane. (Added words "in some cases".) ? Bruno
