Sorry for not being clear. Emacs doesn't use maintainer-makefile and
such. I was just mentioning those files in case it helps you deal with
false positives and such.

Yes, now that I look at the patch again I think setting
$(codespell_extra_args) should be able to handle most of what someone
would ever want.
