The way I do these bulk doc updates is to look at the results of
the configure tests ("./configure -C" -> config.cache).

I didn't look into the details when I did the doc update. So, it is
entirely possible that the configure test failed for a different
reason, that also made the unit test fail.
With the insights that you have now gotten, feel free to correct
the doc if it is wrong.
