The --help output of gettext's configure contains these lines: $ ./configure --help | grep libuni --with-included-libunistring use the libunistring parts included here --with-libunistring-prefix[=DIR] search for PACKLIBS in DIR/include and DIR/lib --without-libunistring-prefix don't search for PACKLIBS in includedir and libdir
The reference to PACKLIBS is a bug; the correct output ought to be: --with-included-libunistring use the libunistring parts included here --with-libunistring-prefix[=DIR] search for libunistring in DIR/include and DIR/lib --without-libunistring-prefix don't search for libunistring in includedir and libdir This patch fixes it. Apparently the bug dates back to 2008. 2022-07-04 Bruno Haible <br...@clisp.org> havelib: Fix 'configure --help' output. * m4/lib-link.m4 (AC_LIB_LINKFLAGS_BODY): Fix m4 quoting bug. diff --git a/m4/lib-link.m4 b/m4/lib-link.m4 index ed5186afb4..3b75bcd0de 100644 --- a/m4/lib-link.m4 +++ b/m4/lib-link.m4 @@ -1,4 +1,4 @@ -# lib-link.m4 serial 32 +# lib-link.m4 serial 33 dnl Copyright (C) 2001-2022 Free Software Foundation, Inc. dnl This file is free software; the Free Software Foundation dnl gives unlimited permission to copy and/or distribute it, @@ -196,8 +196,8 @@ AC_DEFUN([AC_LIB_LINKFLAGS_BODY], eval additional_libdir3=\"$exec_prefix/$acl_libdirstem3\" ]) AC_ARG_WITH(PACK[-prefix], -[[ --with-]]PACK[[-prefix[=DIR] search for ]PACKLIBS[ in DIR/include and DIR/lib - --without-]]PACK[[-prefix don't search for ]PACKLIBS[ in includedir and libdir]], +[[ --with-]]PACK[[-prefix[=DIR] search for ]]PACKLIBS[[ in DIR/include and DIR/lib + --without-]]PACK[[-prefix don't search for ]]PACKLIBS[[ in includedir and libdir]], [ if test "X$withval" = "Xno"; then use_additional=no
