I'm not aware of a problem, if OpenSSL is a library that is normally distributed with the major components of the operating system, but this topic has been raised on emacs-devel (see <http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-devel/2013-12/msg00252.html>) and if it turns out to be a problem we will back it out.
