James was already asked about this once before:
https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-gnulib/2010-07/msg00154.html

but that email left it ambiguous whether his permission was for LGPLv2+
or LGPLv3+.

I guess that means we're still waiting for a reply on this thread.
