Since '^' is a quoting character in cmd.exe, maybe you can try whether it helps to protect "*" inside double-quotes on Windows 7? That is, try to pass arguments such as ^* ^^* "*" "^*" "^^*" \"*\" \"^*\" \"^^*\" ^"*^" ^^"*^^" Bruno
