This change broke the 'verify' module. How to reproduce: $ ./gnulib-tool --test assert-h exclude ... ../../gllib/exclude.c:58: error: expected declaration specifiers or ‘...’ before ‘(’ token ../../gllib/exclude.c:58: warning: data definition has no type or storage class make[4]: *** [exclude.o] error 1 A smaller example: In a testdir with the 'assert-h' and 'verify' modules, $ cat foo.c #include <assert.h> #include "verify.h" verify (2 + 3 == 5); $ gcc -c foo.c -I . foo.c:3: error: expected declaration specifiers or ‘...’ before numeric constant foo.c:3: warning: data definition has no type or storage class The reason is that "verify.h" no longer defines the 'verify' macro if <assert.h> was already included in the same compilation unit.
