Distributions are well served without --enable-relocatable. The people for
whom --enable-relocatable are useful are IMO
  - maintainers of a package who decide to provide binaries, for users'
    convenience,
  - users who want to share installed programs with some other users.

No no, I won't tell anyone how the exploit works :-) But there is an exploit.
