This is unrelated to LGPLv2.5. (I shouldn't have mentioned the two independent topics in a single mail; my bad.) If LGPLv2.5 comes to exist, it may replace some of our uses of LGPLv2+. We are moving to LGPLv3+ only those parts of gnulib where we consider that GPLv2 compatibility is not desired; in these cases LGPLv2.5 has no advantage over LGPLv3+. Bruno
