Right you are. Right now I'm just trying to address security holes in gzip, like buffer overruns (I just half an hour ago found another hole, wow! I'll be generating 1.3.7 soon). I see no buffer overruns there, just well-defined failures on too-deep hierarchies, so that can wait.
