I'm reluctant to put URLs like that in the code or documentation,
since they mutate too rapidly with time.  For example, they changed
last year.  (I noticed since I sometimes give programming assignments
that reference these pages.)

If we had URLs like that, it'd be yet another thing to maintain when a
new version of POSIX comes out, and I'd rather not have the hassle of
keeping URLs up-to-date.

It would be nice if the Open Group had an easy way of saying "get me
the latest version of the man page for fopen, whatever that is".  That
would handle my objection.
