Summary: Incorrect example in find.info docs for '-perm' Project: findutils Submitted by: None Submitted on: Sat 08 Apr 2017 10:04:59 AM UTC Category: documentation Severity: 3 - Normal Item Group: None Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: Jacob Nevins Originator Email: 0jacobnk....@chiark.greenend.org.uk Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: None Fixed Release: None _______________________________________________________ Details: An example in find.info says '-perm /022' Match files that are writable by either their owner or their group. The files don't have to be writable by both the owner and group to be matched; either will do. I think this is wrong; to match the text, I think the option would have to be '-perm /220'. Other examples nearby are similar. Patch attached. _______________________________________________________ File Attachments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sat 08 Apr 2017 10:04:59 AM UTC Name: perm-example.patch Size: 717B By: None Patch against git 11a050cdb <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=40328> _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?50758> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/
