I think I've found a thinko in cpio.
I'm getting crc verify errors on my archives. I suspect it's due to :
global.c:unsigned long crc;
I'm on a 64bit machine, and the crc field in the header is only 32 bits.
If you look at the calculated crc vs the "should be" there is more than
32 bits there.

I'd send a patch, but I'm not that clever. Not subscribed to the list
either.
