I think you're giving up too easily: your revised patch didn't address the x32 issue at all (which is easy to do as seen in my partial GOT patch). If this is done, FreeBSD/amd64 will have clean results. I suspect with a little bit of work, the tests could be made to work on Solaris/x86, too.
