Great - thanks for the updated version and sorry for the silly mistake of
putting the new code into the wrong emulation!
I have applied your patch with just one small tweak. In the ld.text file you
need to escape the @ character if you want it to be displayed literally so I
changed @samp{@number} to @samp{@@number}.
