"objdump -z" works for me on Linux/x86:
[hjl@gnu-tgl-3 tmp]$ cat x.s
.text
foo:

mov %eax, %ebx
[hjl@gnu-tgl-3 tmp]$ gcc -c x.s
[hjl@gnu-tgl-3 tmp]$ objdump -dw x.o
