Hi I sent a message before to mail...@gnu.org before I saw your email

I'm using Ubuntu 18.04 and I ran into an issue which is I get this message
whenever i compile even a simple hello world program in C++

collect2: fatal error: ld terminated with signal 11 [Segmentation fault],
core dumped

I tried to purge binutils and reinstall it again but to no avail please help
