Hi Jaydeep,

  Thanks for the additional patch.  I have applied it with a couple
  of modifications: there is no need to have two mallocs and two
  copies of the path, when just one will do.  Plus there already is
  a defined macro for detecting UNIX style directory separators.

  Please let me know encounter any further problems.
