Bug ID: 20795
Summary: [PowerPC] RLMI instruction deprecated but still
decodes for PowerPC 64
Product: binutils
Version: 2.26
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: binutils
Assignee: unassigned at sourceware dot org
Reporter: nholcomb at wisc dot edu
Target Milestone: ---
The RLMI instruction was deprecated from POWER to PowerPC but is produced
during decoding of PowerPC 64.
Example:
Bytes: 59 2f c9 16
Output: rlmi r15, r9, r25, 4, 11
Here's a snippet the C code used for decoding (forces ppc64):
disassemble_info disInfo;
INIT_DISASSEMBLE_INFO(disInfo, out_file, (fprintf_ftype)fprintf);
disInfo.buffer = (bfd_byte*)(inst);
disInfo.buffer_length = nBytes;
disInfo.arch = bfd_arch_powerpc;
disInfo.mach = bfd_mach_ppc64;
disassemble_init_powerpc (&disInfo);
int rc = print_insn_big_powerpc((bfd_vma)0, &disInfo);
