[I am not a security expert].  Hmm, tricky.  This bug could be exploited to
make
the linker read from an arbitrary address.  It could not be exploited to make
the linker write to an arbitrary address however, and since the linker does not
(normally) run with any elevated privileges I think that this does not
represent
a security issue.
