Bug ID: 15779
Summary: wrong logic in description of ranlib's -D option
Product: binutils
Version: 2.24 (HEAD)
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: binutils

correct ranlib -D documentation
The ranlib documentation describes both -D (deterministic mode) and -U
(non-deterministic mode) as follows:
"This is the default unless binutils was configured with
--enable-deterministic-archives."
Since they are each other's inverse both cannot be the default under the same
condition.
This looks like a copy-paste error. The documentation for ar and objcopy imply
that -D is default if --enable-deterministic-archives, so this trivial patch
corrects the description of ranlib's -D option to match objcopy's.
