Without the --gc-section option I get this error message: no memory region specified for loadable section `.eh_frame' You can see our linker script in one of the console listings. That has been used for years. It wasn't until this migration/upgrade project, did we run into the above error and one other about .rela.dyn. One of my many tests was to use the built in linker script which I adjusted slightly to our needs. I can attach that if you wish.
