Curiously in the documentation here: http://www.gnu.org/software/binutils/manual/gprof-2.9.1/html_chapter/gpr of_5.html#SEC16 the bug is not visible, possibly because it appears to describe a different version of gprof (one which emits a list of parents for the cycle as a whole, which current version never do).
