Good news - I can now reproduce this bug and I think that I have tracked it down. It appears to be an uninitialized memory bug. The text_index_section field in the elf_link_hash_table structure is not being initialized when the structure is created, leading to all kinds of problems. Please could you try out the uploaded patch which should resolve this issue ?
