$ cat foo

exec 2> bar_$1
exec 1> bar_$1
trap 'echo TERM' TERM
trap 'echo HUP' HUP
sleep 10000 &
wait
$ for term in konsole xterm lxterm lxterminal uxterm gnome-terminal\
mate-terminal terminology blackbox-terminal; do
$term -e "./foo $term" &
done
Then clicked on red button to close all terminal emulators...
...
$ screen ./foo screen
Then [Ctrl-A] followed by [Backslash (\)] to force quit screen terminal emulator
[screen is terminating]
$ grep . bar_*
bar_blackbox-terminal:HUP
bar_gnome-terminal:HUP
bar_konsole:HUP
bar_lxterm:HUP
bar_lxterminal:HUP
bar_lxterminal:HUP
bar_mate-terminal:HUP
bar_screen:HUP
bar_terminology:HUP
bar_uxterm:HUP
bar_xterm:HUP
Don't know why lxterminal's bar file hold two lines, but...
There are still a lot of emulators not tried, but for the most common.
