Speaking of time... the signal/noise ratio in this thread is so unusually low that most subscribers could probably not afford any better than skim over it (my case). Too bad because I feel there a few interesting ideas. Actually, it was not really "noise" but rather a large amount of convolutions, repetitions and unnecessary rephrasing. Any volunteer for a LWN-style summary?
