Thanks to help from gnu.org sysadmin (Thanks Ward!) and the cs.cmu.edu postmaster (Thanks Jeff!) the problem with the repeated emails has been resolved. The emergency moderation mailing list setting which saved the list from several thousand repeats over the weekend is no longer needed and has been removed. Things are returned to normal operation.
