I've used it to fix both findutils.git and automake.git. Remember, if you already have a checkout with the broken tags, git will not automatically replace them with the fixed ones; you'll have to first delete the broken tags locally and then refresh from upstream. I'm attaching the names of the tags that got fixed; you can fix your local side by: $ git tag -d $(cat broken) $ git fetch origin --tags then, optionally use git prune to remove the now-dangling broken tags.
