Normally xbrlapi, orca etc. should then be using the libbrlapi from /usr/local/lib and thus things should be going alright. To check that, could you run ldd /usr/bin/xbrlapi (install the xbrlapi package if not done so already) to check where it takes its libbrlapi from.
