Yes, Dave, the batch files could presumably be written in Visual
BASIC. The example seems to contain a couple lines of VBS code. I
think it was intended as a drop-in solution for existing batch files.
I haven't done much with VBS.

The explanation of that code says that it creates a .vbs script which elevates
the privilegs and then reruns the original .bat script. Mightn't it be better,
then, to just rewrite each of the three .bat scruots as .vbs scripts?
