It worked for me too. I had to disable the speech driver in order to build it, as it detected espeak rather than espeak-ng. That might be related to the symlink I created connecting libespeak.so.1 to libespeak-ng.so.1. I noticed also that /usr/include/espeak and /usr/include/espeak-ng both exist - and are both identical.
