Nice try Vicky, This new computer doesn't have a serial port, so I
turned that off in Active Sync. No, I don't have wireless access.
Thanks for trying though.

I often have the same thing happen with XP Home. So, that is why I
hurriedly get the ActiveSync set up via USB, and then start using the
wireless ActiveSync. But, in case you're not able to use the wireless, have
you had any better luck connecting to ActiveSync using the serial port?

Subject: [Braillenote] Active Sync, Keysoft 7, the PK and XP Pro
Greetings,
This is primarily directed to Humanware staff, but if anyone else
wants to chime in, feel free.
I completely uninstalled ActiveSync since I couldn't get it to work.
I cleaned up the hard drive.
I reinstalled ActiveSync 3.8.
I plugged the USB cable into the PK.
I told ActiveSync to "get connected" and it worked.
I launched KeyWEb.
I went to www.bookshare.org, logged in, searched for a book,
downloaded the book onto the PK's Compact Flash card.
As I was looking around the Bookshare page, my computer made that
disconcerting noise of a usb device being unplugged. Mind you, I had
not touched the USB cable.
A few seconds later, I heard the USB device connecting sound, then
the disconnecting sound. Meanwhile, XP Pro popped up the message
that a USB device connected to this computer had malfunctioned, etc.
To say the least, I am truly tired of this.
I cannot be the only one on the planet experiencing this.
it behaves the same way on my XP Pro machine at work.
Does XP Pro just dislike Humanware?
Any help here would be appreciated.
Richard, The Underwhelmed
