This sound fair and understandable.
But if so, then its necessity should be noted in "Your account"
(http://boinc.berkeley.edu/teams/home.php) near the Email address field,
until the address gets confirmed (which should be also permanently
stated on the same page, at best with the date when it happened). (A
good example: Pirates@Home accounts.)
