I think both pages can be helpful to different people.

The so-called SimpleGUi is far from self-evident; there are "hidden"
controls such as the "graphics available" static text which is really
a "show graphics" button, and the project icons which show a menu
when clicked.

So I think it is good to have the
<http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Simple_view> page available. On the
Mac, there is no way to eliminate the menus entirely, so the mac
Simple View does have a help menu with three options like the
Advanced view's help menu: "BOINC Help" takes you to the
wiki/BOINC_Help page, "BOINC Manager" takes you to the
wiki/Simple_view page, and "BOINC Website" takes you to
<http://boinc.berkeley.edu/>.

Unfortunately, the design of the SimpleGUI dictated that there be no
menus on Windows (a decision I feel was misguided.) So I would
suggest that the the Help button take you to the wiki/BOINC_Help
page, but that page should have self-help links to
<http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Simple_view> and
<http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Advanced_view>.

That way you get the best of both worlds.

As Jord points out, the wiki/BOINC_Help page is geared to the
Advanced View, so perhaps
<http://boinc.berkeley.edu/manager_links.php??target=simple&version=6.11.4&controlid=6601>

needs to go to a separate page similar to the wiki/BOINC_Help page
but designed specifically for Simple View. This page wouls also have
a link to the existing wiki/Simple_view for those who just want a
guide the controls and displays in the simple view.

These changes can all be made at the BOINC and GridRepublic web
sites; no change to the client is needed.

Cheers,
