| Well, this wasn't actually supposed to go to the list, but
whatever. If

2.10.14 for

That reply (also from Ell) suggests the release might take a little
longer. For the moment, I'll wait and see,
Meanwhile, I advise people not to use 2.10.16.

Just a heads up for you guys,
If you downgrade to GIMP-2.10.14, you're going to need to completely
remove all of the files from GIMP-2.10.16. Otherwise you will end up
with a version mismatch error for libgimp.so when trying to launch
GIMP. Here's what I did:
- Attempted to launch GIMP-2.10.14 and got the Version Mismatch error
when trying to launch GIMP
- Removed the files like so:
sudo rm -rfv /usr/lib/libgimp* /usr/bin/gimp* /etc/gimp
/usr/include/gimp-2.0 /usr/share/gimp /usr/share/gtk-doc/html/libgimp*
/usr/lib/gimp
This should remove the GIMP libraries, headers, configuration files in
/etc, the binaries, and the items it specifically puts in /usr/share
(with the exception of the desktop file because I know that will
remain the same).
I've since begun rebuilding GIMP-2.10.14.
If anyone needs to remove GIMP-2.10.16 from their system ( *and* has it
installed in /usr ), I wrote a script:
http://anduin.linuxfromscratch.org/~renodr/remove-gimp.sh
Another word of caution: It also removes *.la files by running the
script that is in "About Libtool Archive (.la) files", and runs
'ldconfig -v' after removing the files that GIMP installs from the
system. I originally developed this script for myself, and I almost
never remove my *.la files unless forced to, so I figured that it would
be an excellent opportunity to slip that command in.
