I used rustc-1.38 successfully for months (built with for llvm-8.0.1, and
yes, I seem to remember I failed with llvm-9_svn before). Admittedly,
firefox-68.0.2esr is a little older than rustc-1.38, so it may have only
been firefox-69/70/70.0.1 that works fine with it... Just switched to
rustc-1.40, no issue identified so far, but not built firefox since then
either...
