Yes, but it needs a patch for ghostscript-9.18.  I decided that I
already had all the dependencies for evince, except libspectre, so I
made a short extra script and then watch the compile fail.

I eventually found a patch at gentoo, or rather I found the commit
and worked from that - coundn't seem to find the patch itself, maybe
because they have masked 9.18.  I've committed it, and evince now
displays the ps. Interestingly, our way of copying the headers means
we avoided the "missing gserror.h" problem which upstream has now
fixed.
