ĸen, I get similar (from memory) several times.

If you have not deleted the build directory, I think you can finish soon.

IIRC, this occurs when I'm building via ssh (others got it with chroot).
You need to be on a graphical session in the target system. If you are
using either what I mentioned, go to the graphical session and use the
same make ... build (from memory, use what is in the book and in your
script), not the commands indicated above by LO. In minutes, it will
finish the build (I hope).

Fernando,

I saw comments in the ticket for 4.3.0. But I'm running this
natively, under kde : this is the machine where the cups-filters
test segfaulted in chroot, so I've been booted into 7.7 since then.

I'll have to think about adapting my script to do that. Hmm, on
second thoughts I can run the commands manually and then (if I'm
lucky) replicate the find commands I run to see what got installed.
Certainly, from comparing the log to the i686 build it is very near
the end.

Will try one of those alternatives later. Thanks.

Did not help, I got the exact same error.

Just a note that I managed to build and install it by dropping back
to runlevel 3, using icewm. The failed builds had been from within
kdm.

Excellent. Are you going to take ticket #6217?
