So, I had to get up early (for me) today, which meant I've been
changing my hours for the last two days, and mostly too tired to do
what I had intended (going out, driving). Instead, I've been playing
with biber, and then today I've sorted xindy.

Altering texlive to build with, or without, the binary installer is
definitely 7.7 material.

[ snip most of the earlier post, whilst noting for Bruce that I have
NO intention of removing the binary installer in the future : perhaps
one day, somebody who knows how to use its updater can be persuaded
to write something brief about it so that people who use the binaries
can live on the sharp edge. ]

On reflection, it is _probably_ better to put all the modules used
by biber on the perl-modules page. I'll see how it goes. There are
quite a lot of modules eplicitly sought by biber - for those not
already in the book (most of them) I'll add them with versions, with
links for their dependencies as has been done for what is already
there.

I'll also add instructions for using Build.PL for the three modules
which use that method.

If I get all that done, and looking acceptable to me, I'll take a
look at putting biber on a new page in the Typesetting section - it
comes primarily from Sourceforge, so arguably it is not (just) a
perl module.

Sometimes she went to bed as early as 6 a.m.
