 I've just built it on my newest system (LFS-svn-20140502, sysv)
on my intel (which is usually slower than the phonon).  All built
and DESTDIR'd without problem, and in less than 3 hours for the
book's config [ over 5 hours on my phenom with LFS-7.5 :-( ].

 Full disclosure : I did not use system clucene, system odbc, or
system openldap.  An this was x86_64.
