Hi, I am relaying a message from Stephanie Dearing who emailed me tonight:
Hi Bill, saw this bird this morning, its call attracted me - thought I was hearing a cooper's hawk, saw it fly around a pond in southern Brant County, these were the only pics I got, not great, but good enough for id. I believe it is a black-necked stilt. I saw it at Elliot Road and it flew south. I hoped I might see it again, as I was going south to Waterford, but I didn't see it again Stephanie Stephanie forwarded two flying shots and it is an obvious Black-necked Stilt. I would attach them here but unfortunately OntBirds does not do photos. Pity. She saw it at a pond along the Waterford-Brantford Rail Trail (not sure formal name) at Elliott Rd, Brant County. Stephanie is an infrequent eBird user and is having trouble entering the record and she will try again tomorrow.
