As you just read, James Holdsworth found a MARSH SANDPIPER today at Thedford Lagoons. Absolutely remarkable. One of the best birds found in the province for sure. The OFO board worked quickly and obtained permission from the mayor of Lambton Shores for all birders to visit the site tomorrow. It is normally closed to access. Please respect the simple rules: no one may enter until 8am. We are to stay between the two lagoons and park on the north side of the highway. Expect a large crowd. The gate will be opened for us and an OFO representative will coordinate. I am starting but would love to have other volunteers for later in the day. This is an impromptu OFO event and our insurance is one of the main reasons we were allowed to run this. Access will be until dark tomorrow and we will discuss access for the following day if the bird is still present. A few of the big year birders and local birders saw the bird after James found it this afternoon. They went to help organize access. Thanks to them for their help!!
