I don’t have the same environment as you do, but:

On macOS 10.13.6 (iMac Pro):
 - no problem copying rich text either by context or edit menus
 - no problem pasting in TextEdit

On macOS 10.15.7 (MBP Pro):
 - no problem copying rich text either by context or edit menus
 - no problem pasting in TextEdit

This is with up-to-date BibDesk in both cases.
