It’s probably a system bug, as you say, but it would be useful to know if I’m 
the only one experiencing the problem.

In any case, I’ve found a workaround. I can drag a citation onto the Editor 
window, by dropping it onto the title bar (but nowhere else). This wasn’t 
possible before the latest version of BibDesk.
