Subject: Re: [Beowulf] HPE to acquire Cray

Hello,
This could be the beginning of a super corporation, like Coca-Cola or
Time-Warner. Large contracts are attractive and the acquisition is brings in
quick cash.
IBM RedHat leaves me with another feeling.

I'm wondering how this will impact the two CORAL-2 contracts that have
been awarded already. Intel subcontracted Cray on Argonne's Aurora,
and Cray just won ORNL's Frontier about a week ago.
Those are quite short-term projects, with tremendous ambitions and an
expected delivery date in 2021, 2 years from now.

Such an acquisition surely can't be done without an impact on such
monumental projects, and I'm wondering what route HPE will follow
there.

Cheers,
