Beowulf,
You can laugh, I did just that...
On my coffee table (and under it) sits a collection of machines from eBay and
Craigslist. Slowly MPICH has been coming together. I have high hopes tonight.
My configurations should be right. SSH is working. The compilers for MPI are in
an NFS. The smaller machine (client) sees that folder. I worked through and
past Lamboot, my machines were quite conversational at that point. But 4 a.m.
came.
Tonight I will try the qsub job submission-when I appointed 4 core I had four
processes, when I appointed 32 cores I had 32 processes...but I only have six
physical cores!
High hopes regardless...
Criticisms and suggestions are welcome...I do have a question, it will seem
daft I suppose.
I never "unpacked" hydra. It is just there. How many obvious things did I miss?
Thanks,
Jonathan
