Bill and all (great discussion)
Coming at this issue from a completely different angle, one of the first things I do with new multi-core hardware is run my "effective core" test. Of course, I test more low-end consumer cores than high end system due to my interest in cheapskate HPC. http://www.clustermonkey.net/Benchmarking-Methods/benchmarking-a-multi-core-processor-for-hpc.html I won't claim I invented benchmarking programs with bash scripts, but I did make the graphs! -- Doug -- Mailscanner: Clean _______________________________________________ Beowulf mailing list, Beowulf@beowulf.org sponsored by Penguin Computing To change your subscription (digest mode or unsubscribe) visit http://www.beowulf.org/mailman/listinfo/beowulf
