The open() expects a single parameter, a reference to a hash. Not a
list of parameters, the odd ones being names and the even ones the
values.
Use
$mailer->open({
'From' => 'Syslog <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>',
'To' => 'gabriela pinado <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>',
'Subject' => 'PiX Detected Attack'
});
